PHYSICAL EDUCATION
St. Croix Catholic believes in creating an environment where students can be successful and build self-esteem through fair play, high expectations and consistent discipline with positive reinforcement. We try to provide the students with a variety of experiences that enhance the development of a positive self-concept. We work to help them develop independent and group skills that expand their confidence, assertiveness, self-control, and the ability to accept their own and others’ strengths and weaknesses.
We feel very strongly that children need to learn to respect each other and themselves. We try very hard to recognize and emphasize respect for diversity by developing an awareness and appreciation for individual differences and likenesses.
We see physical Education class as the idea place to provide students with opportunities to explore, create, problem solve and communicate. Through physical activities, games and free play, kids can develop the positive social skills they will need throughout their lives.
Individual and team skills will be emphasized with an effort to promote lifelong physical well being. Teamwork and cooperation will be a focus to promote sportsmanship.
