ART
Students are encouraged to see the relationships of art to other curriculums, as well as increase their awareness of the art of nature in all of God’s creation. Students will gain confidence by using art as a means of self-expression and communication. They will see how art influences our daily lives as it has in all cultures throughout history.
Our goals for SCCS Middle School graduates:
1. Recognize and respect art in the natural world, as created by God;
2. Understand and appreciate the importance and influence of art in our daily lives;
3. Recognize art as a means of expression in historical and social contexts;
4. Gain confidence and skill in communicating and expressing thoughts through art;
5. Appreciate the uniqueness of each person (and each person’s gifts) as a special and planned creation of God;
6. Gain confidence in experimenting with different art forms;
7. Enjoy the opportunity to express oneself through art.

Frequency of Class: Every day for 2 trimesters, approximately 45 minutes
