SCCS Middle School: Developing Courageous Moral Leaders of the Future!
SCCS Middle School begins in sixth grade. Students move up, literally and figuratively, to our second-floor classrooms and to a new set of expectations. Higher academic expectations are gradually introduced. Technology is incorporated into our philosophy of “academic excellence” and integrated into all areas of learning. Our expert faculty emphasizes teamwork, character development and organizational skills. Challenging and demanding curriculum is introduced to prepare students for high school entry and entrance testing. Required courses include Religion, English, Math, Science, History, Physical Education, Art, Spanish, Computers and Communications.
Middle School offers a wide variety of opportunities in athletics, fine arts, student leadership, and service ministry. Choir, band, and orchestra are offered at every grade level. Enrichment classes and advanced classes are available to challenge the most driven learners. Small class sizes allow our teachers to develop strong relationships with all students and act as mentors, advocates and role models. Every student is treated as a unique and talented gift from God!
The curriculum of the Middle School is high school preparatory in nature and follows a carefully planned sequence of courses. Students also experience coursework in research, writing, technology, character education/life skills preparing them for high school and college preparatory courses.
Our Middle School students consistently excel in high school and beyond as morally courageous leaders; they are competent, compassionate and courageous.
