St. Croix Catholic School Students Will
Celebrate Service During the Annual Marathon for Non-Public Education

This fall, students in Catholic schools across the country are taking part in the Marathon for Non-Public Education. Students collect pledges from family, friends, and community members to support their school and in return the students commit to completing an activity such as walking, running, or performing a service. SCCS students are collecting donations beginning September 23rd and will be participating in a “Service Marathon Week” from October 24th through the 26th. Our school goal is to raise $75,000 which will go towards the school’s annual operating budget. The SCCS Home and School parent group is organizing the event.

COMMUNITY SERVICE DATES: Saturday, October 22, and Monday, October 24th-Wednesday, October 26th

Grades (K-2) - Monday, October 24th, 9:15-11:15 am Music Marathon

Rake a Difference New this year! We will be collaborating with the local Rake-A-Difference Day sponsored by Community Thread and the United Way of Washington County. SCCS Students will be raking the yards of senior citizens and homeowners with disabilities in the Stillwater area. Each home will require at least 15 students in addition to many teacher and parent volunteers as group leaders.

For those who are able to help on the weekend, SCCS is hoping to sponsor a house as part of the county-wide Family Rake a Difference Day scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd from 9:00 to 1:00.

Look for chaperone sign-up sheets and permission slips for the service events to come home with students.
