St. Croix Catholic School Music Curriculum incorporates study of:

  • Liturgical music
  • Songs and music from diverse times, styles, and cultures
  • Musical notation
  • Music Listening, History and Appreciation
  • Recorders, pitched, and un-pitched instruments
  • Song interpretation
  • Proper vocal technique
  • Sight Singing
  • Musical form and composition
  • Drama, theater, and musical theater
  • Overview of the Performing Arts
  • Careers in the Arts
  • Movement, especially with song
  • Performance

Music study also incorporates communication skills, self esteem development, team building, incorporation of concepts from mathematics, history, and language arts, critical thinking skills, multiple intelligences, self-discipline, some infusion of visual arts and much more!

Hill Murray Band Program

This program is provided by Hill Murray High School and is offered to students in grades 4 - 8. A Hill Murray instructor comes to SCCS weekly to instruct the students. Families pay a fee to Hill Murray School for the program.

Orchestra
Dr. Marla Okner (5 & 6)   and Mr. Kent Musser (7 & 8) 

  • Our Orchestra program is offered at no cost through the Stillwater School District for students in grades 5 - 8. Students are bused during the school day to a nearby elementary or junior high school for their lessons.
