St. Croix Catholic School (SCCS) is a consolidated Preschool through 8th grade school located adjacent to St. Michael's Catholic Church in the town of Stillwater, a beautiful community in Minnesota's St. Croix River Valley.
Catholic education began in the St. Croix Valley in 1856, at which time St. Michael's School was founded by the Carondelet Order of the Sisters of St. Joseph from St. Paul. The neighboring parish, St. Mary's, opened a school in 1872. A local Benedictine Order of Sisters served St. Mary's School. The two schools merged in 1968, becoming St. Croix Catholic School. St. Charles' parish of Bayport joined the partnership that year as well.
Today, St. Croix Catholic School is a growing educational community with almost 350 students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade and approximately 140 students in a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Middle School.Ark of Angels Montessori Preschool opened in 2005.
